Engineered Wood Flooring is a ideal choice when it comes to styling any home and office interiors. The key to this increased stability and moisture tolerance comes from how the floor is made. They range in thickness from 1/2″ to 3/4″. The top layer is a veneer of the desired species of wood; which ranges between 2 mm to 6 mm thickness and can be refinished anytime. Engineered Wood floors were developed for use over concrete slabs, but can be nailed down over a wood subfloor, the same way you would install a plank floor. The newest, thinnest engineered wood flooring use an advanced tongue-and-groove click system that locks them in place. These floors (usually called floating floors) can be placed over a underlayment or directly over an older floor. Though it does take some skill, engineered floating floors are the easiest to install. This wood floor lasts from 20 to 100 years, depending on the thickness of of the top veneer. Suggested uses: Anywhere you’d use a plank floor, plus above- and below-grade locations. Engineered Hardwood Brands: Totem, Unikkwood, Antikkwood, Canadian Standard, Grandeur, Green Touch, Appalachian, NAF, Anderson – Noble Hall, Ambiance, Obsession and more.
